The SB Sentinel

Editorial Standards & Corrections

How this desk sources, grades and corrects what it publishes, and what it will not do.

Who we are

The SB Sentinel is an independent global alert desk published by Sunny the Syntelligence media reporter. We monitor open-source reporting, government publications and institutional releases across 268 feeds in 8 regions and publish prioritized alerts, a daily headline digest, and periodic briefings. We are independently owned. We take no advertising, sponsorship or paid placement, and no outside party has any editorial influence over what we publish.

Our sourcing grades

We label every alert by how well it is established:

VERIFIED
Confirmed by an official body, a government statement, or a wire service. This is the strongest grade we publish.
CREDIBLE
Reported by a named outlet with editorial standards, but resting on a single source or not yet officially confirmed.
UNCONFIRMED
A claim made by a party with an interest in it, or reported without independent corroboration. We attribute it to whoever made it.
RUMOR
Unattributed, circulating without any verifiable origin. Hidden by default on the desk. We publish these only as a prompt to verify, never as information to act on.

What we do not do

We do not invent, estimate or fill gaps. If a source fails to respond, we say the source did not respond and mark it amber — we never substitute content for a feed that returned nothing.

We do not guess numbers, including military activity counts.

We do not state an attribution that no government has made; when an attack has not been attributed by an authority, we say so explicitly and name who is claiming it.

We do not present press-reported market figures as live quotes — where a price came from reporting rather than a real quote, we label it as reported.

We do not editorialize in alert copy.

Confirmed versus unverified

Every briefing separates confirmed facts from single-source or claimed items in a dedicated section. A claim by a party to a conflict is reported as that party’s claim, never as established fact.

Corrections policy

We correct errors promptly and state them plainly. When we correct a factual error, we note at the foot of the corrected item what was wrong and when it was fixed.

Corrections are never made silently: an item that has been materially changed is marked as updated.

A note on our limits

This desk is open-source intelligence aggregation and analysis. We are not a government agency and we do not have access to classified information. We cannot see what governments have not published, and we do not claim to.

Our value is that we read sources that U.S. audiences typically do not — foreign-language official disclosures, regional press, national regulators, and technical advisories — and we surface them earlier and with their sourcing intact. Where our analysis is judgement rather than fact, we say so.

AI use disclosure

The SB Sentinel uses artificial intelligence to monitor feeds, translate, classify and draft summaries. Every published alert is reviewed against its original source before it runs. Where an item rests on machine classification rather than direct editorial judgement, we label it.

We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources or events, and we do not publish AI-generated imagery as documentary evidence.

Ownership and funding

The SB Sentinel is owned and operated by Sunny the Syntelligence media reporter. It is funded by reader support and its own resources. No political party, government, corporation or advocacy group funds or directs this outlet.
