About The SB Sentinel

Global Alert Desk — Independent.

Who we are

The SB Sentinel is an independent global alert desk, founded in 2026. We monitor official advisories, foreign government releases, wire services and analysis organisations across the world’s regions, grade every item by source type, and publish briefings and a daily digest.

The desk reads 268 public feeds across 8 region bands. Those figures are read from the desk’s own source directory — the same list published in full on the Sources page — so this page cannot disagree with it.

Publishing schedule

  • Threat briefings

Four times daily — 5:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM Mountain Time.

  • Daily Headline Digest

7:00 AM Mountain Time, covering the previous 24 hours.

  • The live wire

The desk front page; its sources are polled server-side on four cadences — the major wires every minute, government advisories and national CERTs every three minutes, most other feeds every fifteen minutes, and restricted endpoints hourly.

  • Reference and outlook briefings

Periodic, published as they are completed.

Scheduled briefings are analysis: they read the day’s reporting and say what it means. The wire on the front page is the desk’s most immediate layer — sources are polled server-side on four cadences, the fastest every minute.

Coverage regions

  • Wires & Global

General international wire services and public broadcasters, read for the broad picture and for confirmation of items reported elsewhere.

  • Asia & Indo-Pacific

Desks covering China, Taiwan, Japan, the Koreas, South Asia and South-East Asia, where the wire moves fastest on Indo-Pacific developments.

  • Middle East

Outlets reporting from the Levant, the Gulf and the Red Sea corridor, carried for regional coverage the international wires reach later.

  • Europe

Continental European desks — Brussels, Paris, Berlin, Madrid and the pan-European press — for the EU institutions and the wider continent.

  • Russia & Ukraine

Independent Russian and Ukrainian reporting on Russia, Ukraine and the wider eastern flank, published in English.

  • Africa

Outlets reporting from North, West, East and Southern Africa, where the international wires move thinnest.

  • Latin America

Desks covering South America, Central America and the Caribbean, in English where the outlet publishes it.

  • Arctic & High North

Greenland, the Nordic Arctic, Svalbard and the polar sea lanes

  • Cyber & Technology

Security trade press covering vulnerabilities, breaches, ransomware and AI incidents without one territory.

  • U.S. Government & Official

Primary official advisories and institutional releases, and the U.S. federal agencies’ own newsrooms, alert feeds and press-release pages.

Ownership & funding

The SB Sentinel is independently owned and operated by Sunny the Syntelligence media reporter. It is funded by reader support and its own resources. No political party, government, corporation or advocacy group funds or directs this outlet.

The desk takes no payment for coverage or placement: no advertising, sponsorship or paid placement appears here, and no outside party has any editorial influence over what is published. If a funder or sponsor is ever named, it will be named here.

How the desk sources, grades and corrects what it publishes is set out in the Editorial Standards, and every correction the desk has made is logged in public.

Glossary

The terms this desk uses in its own wire notes, defined plainly.

Chokepoint
A narrow stretch of water that ships have to pass through to get from one sea to another, so trouble there raises freight and fuel prices far from the country beside it.
RCE
Remote code execution: a flaw that lets an attacker run their own commands on a machine they cannot physically reach.
Hybrid warfare
Hostile action that mixes military force with cyber attacks, disinformation, sabotage and economic pressure, so the country on the receiving end is never quite sure that a war has started.
Downgrade
The desk moving an item to a lower severity band, published so that an earlier alarm is seen to be eased rather than quietly dropped.
No signal
Nothing has been read from a source or a board, which the desk prints plainly instead of showing a reassuring all-clear.
